Grade 1

Goals To Meet!

Neidig Reading Goal:
Every student in first grade will read at least 25 books this year! These 25 books will be read at both home and in school. Each month I will send home a reading log where your child can list the books they have read for the month. Each first grader should read at least 5 books a month. When you have completed the log, please send it back to school so your child can be recognized for their reading achievement. Once a student reaches his/her 25 book reading goal, they will be recognized in a school wide celebration assembly. Every student who reads 25 books for the year will get to participate in Beach Day. Students WILL NOT stop reading once they have read 25 books! Keep reading and logging books all year long! Books read will be noted on the report card each semester. Also, the student who reads the most books in each grade level will receive a special prize at the end of the year.

Neidig Math Goal:
Every student in first grade will be able to count by 2, 5 and 25 to 100 by the end of the year. We will practice skip counting in school on a daily basis and it is encouraged to do this at home too! Student are also required to know addition sums to 10 within 4 minutes and subtract within 10 within 5 minutes.
